I'm Adrian Vaughan and it’s a privilege for me to be part of the committee of Black Mountains Chapter, Wales. I started my biking when I was fifteen, tearing around the garden on my 49cc, desperately waiting for my sixteenth birthday to get out into the road.

Shortly after my Seventeenth birthday I passed my test and since then I have owned numerous retro style bikes and more recently a Harley Heritage, Streetbob and Ultra Limited.

I am fairly new to H.O.G®, but have already met loads of great biking people and munched up more miles since owning Harley's than any year previously. Since joining HOG I have ridden my bike through many European countries, including Norway, Finland, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Holland, Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland and also rode to St Petersburg in Russia and hired a bike in the USA to do a California Tour with the Chapter.

This is a result of the people I have met and the ride out / rally opportunities available through the H.O.G® scene. I look forward to meeting and riding with you all soon.

Hi, my name is Steve Link and I have been involved with motorcycles and motorcycling since I was 16 - well over 40 years! Had all sorts of bikes over this time, British, Japanese, Italian etc. and my first Harley back in the late seventies. It was a 75th Anniversary iron head sportster and I have to say it wasn't the greatest bike I ever owned but I had some great adventurers and experiences with it and got the "Harley bug". Over the years I have ridden all over Britain, Europe and several trips to "The States". I tend to enjoy the longer distance/touring riding and my last 3 Harleys have all been Ultras.

I joined HOG a few years back when I bought a new Ultra Classic and initially joined Great Western, as there was no Welsh Chapter at the time. Like many other GWC members I joined BMC as a Charter Member last November and have watched the Chapter rapidly grow and develop during its first few months of existence. I have met many great people and made lots of new friends through HOG and look forward to getting to know all of the BMC members. I try to attend, as many events/activities as possible so you should see me around sooner or later, please feel free to come over and have a chat.

I am very proud and privileged to be on the committee of the only Welsh HOG Chapter and I am looking forward to working with the other committee members to make our Chapter even better and more well known around the HOG circuit.

I’d like to say that I’m an experienced biker with many years of riding under my belt but that would be far from true - I bought my first Harley less than 12 months ago!!! However, being a member of the Chapter has given me far more experience and knowledge than I ever would have guessed. The chapter is full of wonderful people with a diverse history and many stories to tell!

I was honoured that, as well being asked to join the road crew, I was asked to become the Chapter’s Editor in, this, my first year of membership. I cherish this role and hope to give you an insight into our Chapter and keep our news, events and information flowing through both the traditional newsletter and by regularly updating our social media pages.

Please feel free to pass any relevant information to me to include in future newsletters and please don’t hesitate to post on our Facebook group.

My first experience of biking was back in 2004 when I ventured to The Le Mans 24 hour Bike Race on the back of Adrian’s Suzuki GSX 1400. Several years later with several different bikes coming and going, we both joined Hog in 2013 when Adrian acquired his first Harley. I now have the comfort of ‘an armchair’ for my travels, which comes in handy with my advancing years LOL. One of the best parts of being a member of HOG I feel is the social aspect. I have met many new friends since being in The Chapter and also attending rallies both home and away. I passed my CBT in 2014 and am currently developing my confidence and skills on my little Suzuki Van Van, with a view one day having my own Harley. Outside of biking I am a keen DIYer, a qualified Ballroom Dancer, Rescue Scuba Diver and Day Boat Skipper.

A little bit about me: My bike history has been mainly pillion with my husband Jason, apart from when I completed my CBT but decided it was not for me. I have been pillion now for a number of years, riding mainly Japanese bikes. We tried out Harleys starting with a V Rod and got hooked. We now have a Heritage which is a lot more comfy for a pillion. We joined the club to ride and we haven’t stopped since then. We love attending rallies and meeting new people with like minded interests. I am originally a Valley girl who loves the outdoors, partying and life.

I've been riding bikes since I got my first Honda SS50 just after my 16th birthday. Since then we've only been without a bike for 3 months when times were hard but then Jane surprised me with a Kawasaki KH250 in bits in boxes and within a month we were on the road again! Strangely enough we sold that in 1994 just before Lucy was born and bought it back 5 years ago when I saw it on fleabay. So as well as the SS50 and KH250 we've also had a Yamaha RD200, Suzuki GT250, Honda CB250, Kawasaki S1C, Yamaha XS1100, Kawasaki GPZ750R, Honda CBR600, Kawasaki Z1B (wish I still had this!), 2 Kawasaki ZZR1100 (C3 and D4 model which we've still got) until in 2004 we decided to buy our first Harley - Centenary Lowrider. Never looked back and have since owned and loved V-Rod, 2 Heritage Softail Classics, Electraglide Ultra Limited and now a CVO Street Glide.

My motorcycling history spans over 50 years of riding two wheels, starting as many did in a field behind my family home in Dinas Powis in 1960’s. In the early days I would ride any bike that I could get my hands on, repair and get going starting with a Cyclemaster wing wheel with the massive engine of 33cc. At 11 years old it was great fun. This followed with all sorts from British BSA, Triumph, Norton, Velocette and then moving on to a Dunstall Honda 250, Suzuki’s etc. Just to name a few.

I have always loved traveling and spending a lot of time sailing, motorcycling and skiing. My love of motorcycles has always been as a traveling machine rather than a racing machine. In 2000 I bought a BMW 1150 GS on which I have spent many happy hours traveling around Europe from Gibraltar in the South to the North of Norway and most countries between. Many of these trips have just been wandering across Europe with no plans just going with the flow meeting great people and places. Then the Route 66 bug kicked in and, following a trip I organised in 2010, I rode a Glide across the States with 7 other friends and my interest in Harleys started to grow. I visited M&Ps on their opening day and sitting there was my current Dyna 110th anniversary model. That was it, hand in pocket and two weeks later the start of my Harley life and joining our great chapter. I am now looking forward to some fantastic rides and fellowship in the coming months and years,

Safe riding and keep the rubber down Kev.
